Sounds pretty patronizing: "Oh, here have a regional every year. You have about a 10 percent chance of reaching the CWS, but we're delighted that you're serving as such fine hosts."

If they want so badly to have a regional in the Northeast, they should go back to true regionals or, at least, change the beginning and ending dates of the college baseball season.

What they're doing now, is killing baseball — as we once knew it — at the northern schools.

Until then, my interest in NCAA D1 baseball and the CWS is falling off the charts.
