I thought the MAAC had a rule that if you left an MAAC program, you had to sit out two seasons before you could play for another MAAC team. Does going JUCO the year in between obviate this rule? or am I just wrong about the existance of the rule? Castleberry did play at Marist in 2001-02, didn't he?

You are correct on the rule. I am sure he has to sit out a season unless the NCAA "stepdown" rule applies (when you go down a level you regain eligibility either way. Either way...Maine should be glad. If those from Maine or in the AE thought Rowe was a bust...whew...this kid is aweful. Back in the day I had a friend talk to Steven Sauers down at Marist (when UA was looking at him) and he said the kid had limitations in his game...not good for a 7 footer. Rider is dangerously close to losing its MAAC affiliation. They have no real similarities to the schools, and recently school officials at Rider made comments about "Catholic Institutions" that were not too nice. Not really a smart move. I see them stepping back down to the NEC, filling the void created by UMBC.

Rider better hope this kid gives them 10 and 10.

>>If you transfer to a JUCO and graduate you can go to any school even to a school in the same conference as the school you signed with out of HS. He does not have to sit out. This kid stinks! He averaged 1ppg at Marist and 3ppg at Dixie JC. Maine should be happy they didn't get this cream puff!!!!
