Subject: AE conference membership

Any rumors on new teams joining the AE?

As a Central Connecticut alum, I'm hoping now that UMBC left, Central would get an opportunity to leave the NEC for the AE too. I'm not sure if Central had the balls to leave the NEC with the fine, but CCSU seems a much better fit in the AE than UMBC. Central plays football (not well) and in the last 2 years CCSU has won bids to the NCAA's in Men’s basketball, Baseball, and Girls Soccer. I think Central would be a great fit both regionally and academically as state university.

Personally I think Quinnapiac will eventually leave the NEC too leaving the NEC as a small college conference. Although, athletically QU is new to DI, they have a law school and compete academically with MAAC schools like Fairfield and Iona.

So what does everyone think the AE will look like in the next few years and should Central try to join?
