Subject: Albany's Trina Patterson named an Asst. for US Pan Am team! Albany signs Canadian prep!

Albany Woman's Basketball coach, Trina Patterson, was named an assistant coach of this summer's US Women's Pan American Team. This appointment was no doubt precipitated by her relationship w/ US head coach Debi Ryan. Still this is a great honor.

Albany also signed Candadian Prep Tanya James,a 5'7 guard who avgd. 25 a game for her Toronto prep team. She led her team to the city championship for four years, and was invited (and participated) in the Nike All-Canada camp, as a ninth grader.

Finally, in what was happy news for her, Mari Warner (former UA coach and UMAINE star), was named head coach at Lansingburgh High School. She had been developing an AAU team in the Capital District.

This is great news for America East and the Albany women's team. The appointment should help raise more awareness of AE, one of the most underrated and overlooked women's conferences in the country. Also, the signing sounds like a good one for Albany. She sounds like a quality player.
