The ProJo indicated URI was upping the ante to Baron to in excess of $300K a year (his current package) and extending him to 2008.

The ProJo also said, which I didn't know, that if Baron leaves, Al Skinner will be the only URI coach in the last 20 years to coach more than 2 seasons there.

The Roanoke newspapers are making the deal seem like the job is Baron's if he wants it.

I don't know Wolffie's package at BU, but if URI is offering $300K.. it might make Wolffie think twice. He can effectively see his kid play at UConn just as easily from Kingston.

If the BU job opens, and I'm BU, I get Paul Biancardi on the phone in a nanosecond.

I say no way Wolff would to go to a program facing NCAA sanctions, which is the reason Baron is considering leaving it.

If he could double his salary and get a long term deal he has to consider it.

Here's the latest:

URI ups Baron to a ten year deal with mega money.

Baron accepts and now Wolff (same agent as Baron) is hot on VT's list!

Also, look for Herb Sendek to be a front runner at Penn State.
