Subject: No Football Ever at Bing

There will never be football at Binghamton. Period. That fact has been guaranteed by the AD, President and anyone who knows anything about gender equity. The divisional move clinched the fact, as there is no way the school could fund football scholarships, especially when the state is in its present budget crisis. Nobody wants low-budget football (I-AAA) either. Lacrosse will become our football, to satisfy those who want to see some contact.

Dont they teach Binghamton students to never use absolutes? DO they also teach gender equity classes? first, you should never say never...because you never know (A YOGISM at its best). Second, gender equity is based upon student population....not athletic population. Your athletic scholarships and funding must be on par w/ UNIVERSITY ENROLLMENT FIGURES. This is the biggest issue w/ Title IX, and when I was at a Sports Law confernce this year, this is the main argument to KEEP TITLE IX.

In a few years, you will see changes to Title IX (changes that were almost made this year, but lost out on a narrow vote). Constitutionally, its a weak regulation.

So, moral of the story is...never say never...because I know football helps UA recruit students by getting our name out there in cities we never would have been known in.
