It's true, it is the one of reasons. But I think that after 9 or 10 children are not " malyshi" anymore.
And at 11 or 12 we didn't take older girls (12-14) as adults, we considered us on a more or less one level with them.
And by the way, if there was age exceptions in younger group (12 years old among 10 years old ones), then I'm sure might be age exceptions in the older girls' group? How old might be the youngest of that girls? 12? 11?
