Hi this was just added to the discussion about lost Buddy music Alan Cassaro
Alan Cassaro When I met the Hollies during the Seventies at their home, as I was leaving, Mr. Holley said to me, "Al, maybe you could ask around in Nashville. We had a tape of demos Buddy did, and we had the tape on the recorder in the living room that we used to play for his fans, but the tape suddenly disappeared. Keep your ears open for someone who might know what happened to it." He said the tape had "Drown in my own Tears" and Hallelujah I love her so" and maybe some others. I DID ask around, and my friend Roland Pike, a Texas person (writer of "Little Lonely Summer Girl") told me, "I know who took the tape." And he gave me a name. I've mentioned it to a few people but they don't believe it's true, the person that Roland said it was. Now, I wonder if that person is/was in collusion with Maria Elena, or if it's a completely different tape since Mr. Holley only mentioned one tape, not several. When Roland died in a fire, I did write a letter to Larry Holley to tell him who the person was that Roland told me about.
