The reason I like any part of "What to Do' and "Crying Waiting Hoping" that were the first overdubs by Jack Hanson, I think, is because of the guitar breaks (forgot who played them)
As a guitarist that has played pretty much every Buddy Holly song, "Crying Waiting" especially has really a great guitar bridge, and very challenging to learn and play. I thought those recordings should have been left alone, but the guitar work on those 2 is kind of neat.
As always, only an opinion.
