Interesting. I believe 'Aunt' Provi's surname was Garcia? I did a little bit of a search regarding her, and everything to do with Peer-Southern checks out. What is interesting is that apparently she divorced a womanising husband, and moved to New York, as divorce was considered shameful by Puerto-Ricans in the 1930's. Going by the short bio I read, she was something of a free spirit; however there is absolutely nothing about her taking in her child niece. Rather odd, given the other personal information in the article. Why wouldn't this be mentioned - if it happened?
