I have a document which was given to me in 1991 and it declares that from the 2nd August 1957 until 12th July 1958,
the Crickets earned $95,929 which is equivalent today of $846,000. This is from all engagements they did with GAC.
It does not include record royalties or publishing rights.
Even if you take off GAC's 10% and Normans 10% it still left each individual member with a quite substantial amount of money!
Remember, Sullivan left in October 1957 so there was more to go around.
Documents do not lie.
All this rubbish about being short of money all came from the mouth of his widow.
Also. remember they were paying $1100 a month rent on the apartment which is equivalent to $8,000 in todays money.
I tried to get permission from GAC to use it in my latest book but unsuccessful.
