I am sorry, I have been meaning to get to this for awhile now but I just haven't had the time. And then our own trip came up and we only got back a few days ago, ourselves.

But I wanted to give my full support in regards to the spankings that you and Shelly delivered to your nephew and her daughter. They were well deserved and very much needed.

Bedtime seems to be an ongoing issue for the children, even solidly into their teens for some of them. Andy (as well as his friend Derek) still give me issues in regards to bedtime at 16!

I am like you Cherie, just because it's summer, and just because we may be on vacation, doesn't mean bedtimes are no longer enforced. I may allow a little later bedtime than normal while on vacation (depending on what is going on), but there is still a bedtime and it is made clear to them what time it is.

I can completely understand the need for less spankings now with the children getting to be older. The last couple of years I have had to administer less than prior years, myself. During our trip this year I only had to give 3 spankings, which is the lowest I have ever done.

That said, we still have a lot of children of spanking ages going on the trip, like my grandchildren and the kids I sit for. But my girls take care of the spankings with their children most often (as how it should be) and the same with the children I babysit, when their parents (mothers) go with. But I had to give a couple of spankings to my grandchildren this time, as well as one with one of my summer charges (6 yr old boy), as his mother could not make the trip this time. When I get the chance, I will share our trip, and the spankings, with the group.
