She tightened the straps around Kiarath's broad neck, checking each one for faults or weakness. The green stood still, as instructed. Giving it a final pull, satisfied that it would hold together quite well, she placed one hand on the handle, neatly vaulting herself upwards and into the harness seat. She had ridden many a runnerbeast, and her arms were strong from many hours of hauling huge nets full of fish. Her green rumbled excitement, striding around the barracks. Ralkene was smiling; it felt wonderful to be on a dragon, no matter if they were earthbound or airborn. Kiarath picked up her pace slightly, as if testing her rider's balance. Both were soon well adapted to walking about, and moved with as much grace as the young dragonlet did while walking without rider.
