The boy leans forward eagerly, his hands brushing the sunwarmed bronze as his mind lifts ahead of them. Kadoth leaps into the air, his massive haunches and powerful backwing elevate him, A'rak clinging to him in wonder. The breeze brushes the boy's face as he and Kadoth approach the marker.

We should slow down. And turn. Kadoth muses laconically, spreading his wings and banking.

"Too soon Kadoth, I want to fly more!"

We'll have our whole careers to fly, you know. As they glide gently, the boy marvels at the feeling before the bronze finally swoops to an easy landing.
