Adults who start as adults do, indeed, have to “work through all the levels” as you said…they don’t walk in and go on stage at the Oireachtas. There are adults who danced as a “kid” and sat out of competition for the required 5 years who do restart at the adult championship level as they should…but otherwise, you work through the levels as any other competitor…at least at our school you do. To dance in a championship at the Oireachtas you have to work to get there, just like a kid would!
