Subject: Wondering

I don't expect a press release telling us CI is currently in bed, eating ramen noodles, trying to fatten himself up after once again turning into Don Knotts.

I get his recent bout with whatever malady he's suffering from is his business.

What struck him down, what medication he's on, even who's by his side doesn't really interest me (ok, I lie a little, I'm a female, by definition, typically a tad nosy - although i really don't care what medication he may or may not be on).

Private stuff is private, I think most people get that but a little update for his fans would certainly be appreciated.

Even a vague, 'Chris will be heading back into the studio in March or is currently writing songs or reading scripts ...'

I know I don't know him, but in a weird way I kind of feel like I do.

I became a fan of his music at the same time I got the internet at home. Back in 1999 message boards were so new. And some of his fans were so clever. (I love clever). Like a baby duck I waddled into the digital age following a CI message board and he sort of imprinted on me.

Over the years my attention dwindled but I still come here sometimes. And I've bought his cd's and I go to his concerts.

In a strange way I care about him. Not like people in my real life, but I know his mom's name is Dorothy and his dad's name was Joe. That he has a penchant for Asian women and got his nose broken when he was a teenager. Details like that make you feel like you have some kind of connection even though you don't really.

There's also the songs. If you really like anyone's music, it's hard not feel like you're getting a little glimpse into who they are.

I understand it's his life and that he doesn't owe us a damn thing. Maybe there's no updates for personal reasons or maybe it's insurance reasons (I'm sure the optics of getting sick twice in one year don't look so good), but couldn't you give us a little heads up?

I think a lot of us just want to know he's ok.
