Subject: News vs Storytelling
In reply to: talked about the NEW cd more than Wicked Game 's message, "Woulda been nice if CBS show" on 01:32:59 02/15/16 Mon

It's naive to think a show like that would focus on his new cd.

It just wouldn't be all that interesting to most people, (except weirdos like us who write about him on message boards in the middle of the night when we can't sleep).

But a story about Chris Isaak, that Wicked Game guy who may not be as famous as he once was but is still out there playing to pretty substantial audiences almost 30 years later, that has broad appeal. That's a tale to be told. One even a non fan might watch.

The song Wicked Game is where it begins, it's the context.

His journey with the band is the unfolding, including Kenney's illness, his continued closeness to his family and the fact he never got married.

The clip about how the guy said, "he used to be big" was the climactic moment and the denouement is Isaak saying, "I'm good with how my career has gone".

Classic story telling structure.

Don't you remember your high school English classes?

What would the story be about his new cd? What's the hook? The narrative, if you want to be la-di-da about it?
