He’s out of a job right now like most musicians. Therefore he is not making money, yet he is still with her.
But rather than staying in his own house, he shacks up with her in Nashville. She uses “work” to keep him in her clutch. She turns him into her partner/significant other by getting him to spend every holiday with her (in the name of work) and to photograph with her dog children. So adopting a dog together is a classic couple thing to do.
