It doesn't matter if HE told YOU all this about Laurel over a coffee. You cannot prove it. No one here can determine whether you are sharing a confidence or simply sharing your own opinion.
Saying other people are wrong for repeating what HE said in public is just silly.
Whether what HE said in an interview is true or not is another question and one WE cannot answer here.
