Saying posting to Kenney is relevant because he is a friend of Chris' and therefore has "something" to do with him is also true, but it is immaterial to the bigger issue that was being discussed, which was the point the other poster was trying to make. Something isn't nothing therefore CB is Chris's girlfriend and they are getting married is how, I think their argument went.
It's a ludicrous leap in logic as you point out. The something versus nothing is therefore a distinction, without a difference.
