Hello all, I'm a professional and a mom. I work at home so that I can be a stay at home mom as well as pursue my work. I'm about to turn 36 years old. God, that sounds so old to me when I write it down. My husband is also a professional who sometimes has to travel for his work. We have two children: Emma who is 13 and Ethan who is 12. We're not religious. I suppose I'd describe us as agnostic. My husband and I both grew up in households where spanking was part of the disciplinary approach used. We agreed early on that we would follow our parents approach to child rearing and discipline. Lately, both of my children have been trying to stretch the limits we have set for them and, as a result, they have both been spanked recently. Emma has recently become crazy for boys and that has gotten her in trouble, particularly, with her father. Ethan has started to ignore our rules of behavior and that got him a spanking from me. He was lucky that his father was out of town. I know both kids are at "that age" when the hormones kick in and they get crazy, but my husband and I are determined to hold the line, so to speak. I look forward to exchanging ideas with all of you.
