Subject: Unexpected Benefits

When I got married (over 28 years ago) I spanked my wife in order to -

1. Deter bad behavior
2. Establish my authority in the marriage

Spankings definitely achieved those objectives, what I did not anticipate was the other effects of a spanking. My wife hates being spanked, and will avoid any behavior that might get her spanked, but after she has been spanked, my wife is more respectful, more submissive and more affectionate toward me. I like her better after she has been spanked, and paradoxically, she likes me better after I spank her too.

Has spanking produced benefits in your marriage beyond what you anticipated?
