Subject: A very disrespectful wife

The son of a neighbor of mine just got married and came to visit his Mother; my neighbor. My neighbor is in her late 50's. His son is 25(I think.) and his new wife is 22. All 4 of us were in a resturant, my treat, and her son was being kind of flirty with his new bride. She didn't really want to flirt back. After a few minutes she'd decided she'd had enough and blurted out something disrespectful. (Calling him an SOB) Naturally, That killed the spirit of the evening, and we all finished our meal in silence.
On the way back, she told us all she was sorry. Her MIL barely adknowledged the apology. I commented that she may be "sorry" but she still needs a good spanking for her language & disrespect.
Long story short: The next morning, my neighbor called to tell me her new daughter in law got the belt almost as soon as they walked in the door, and was sent to bed. and the next morning, an apology was given, with the statement that she deserved her punishment.
I was still a little upset with her and suggested her punishment be a belt across her bare butt & thighs every morning for the next couple of days. No less than 25 smacks. Now I'm wondering if that is too harsh a punishment, as that is what I would've gotten if I were that disrespectful at that age or even when I was a kid.
