Don't forget the rookie of the year normally comes from a bottom feeding team, where the freshman gets to put up numbers due to the fact how poor the team is, and they usually get unlimited minutes, looking at the ROY list it looks like Scott Knapp was the last ROY that came from a decent team. I remember having this conversation with a Fairfield fan when both Clarke and Arch were freshmen, I made the case then that Arch was much better than Clarke even though Clarke won ROY, Arch was playing behind some pretty good players while Clarke had the green light to shoot anytime he wanted. In most cases the ROY is not the best freshmen in the league, although that may change this year with Kiki Clark of SPC
