The point is that you achieve mediocrity by losing the should-wins. There has not been an 18-0 MAAC team in some time, and most often it is attributable to road losses at top tier clubs. Of course it may be different with Manhattan this year, losing at home to the Petes.

You don't happily accept losing any game - but I am a lot less disturbed by a one-point loss on the road at Mulcahy than I am losing at home to two clubs with RPIs in the high 200s. We would not have necessarily viewed this game as so horrible if it wasn't the 3rd game in a 3-game losing streak including Marist and Rider. If this hypothesis is viable, then my point is made.

Please tell me why I'm wrong.
