I likewise think he does a fine job with the beat.

And for anyone who even cares about this, I don't have a problem with the beat writers. My problem is with columns. And maybe it's just a system problem... I have grown rather ill over the years of people in the media who make news instead of reporting it. My amateurish opinion is that taking a borderline foolish stance like the one in question is an attempt to make news. If scribe doesn't like that, well I don't care. I wouldn't waste the daily paper price to read 95% of the columns that currently exist in the sports media. I guess you have to be in the circle to appreciate such works of art.
