Subject: FINALLY back from Po-town...

...after staying locally to watch the Super Bowl and then fighting through hours of snow-driving...Here are some random thoughts from the game:

- Prosper is really playing well. And - as another poster mentioned earlier - he and the rest of the team seem to be enjoying themselves out there. It's nice to see.
- Haddix, Miller, and Brent really played aggressively today. The Saints did a great job of taking advantage of some obvious mismatches in the paint. I can't say enough for Miller...he played like he did in the MAAC Tourney today.
- Paul Williams only played a few minutes, but he was also very aggressive out there. With a little boost in confidence (and some offseason strength work), you can see him close to turning the corner.
- Austin Andrews and Tommy Mitchell came through to score when Marist made their little runs. Tommy really showed his athleticism on a few moves to the basket.
- Gary Holle's dunk was classic. It was nice - right in front of the Saints bench and fans.
- Foul trouble limited Jordan tonight, but he still brought a lot of energy to the court while he was out there.
- Marist can shoot the ball. They will surprise a couple of teams this year on their shooting ability alone. However, their deficiencies in the paint will make it difficult for them to string together enough wins to take the MAAC Tourney in March.
- It was nice to get a seat at McCann. Despite Siena's difficulty playing there, I really enjoy games at McCann. Although the crowd was limited this year, probably because the team is a little down, the weather, and the Super Bowl, they were still a little rowdy during Marist's brief runs...

Let's Go Saints!
