Subject: Hey SS, more scuttlebut for you..

Thought you might want to hear what some Rhode Island fans had to say after Fordham's loss to Rhody in Kingston tonight:

"Fordham was as quick if not quicker than URI. They had little trouble penetrating and dishing".

"I was surprised at how quick Fordham's guards are"

"Batemon, in particular, has improved a lot"

"Batemon may be the most improved player in the Atlantic 10."

Now, all of this amounts to squat when you lose, as Fordham did tonight. But my reason for posting this is that it sure doesn't sound like this is a team that is getting overrun for lack of talent, which I have been saying all along.

Batemon had 12 points and 11 rebounds tonight. People were thinking I was crazy for talking about how much he had improved. Looks like some crow is in order. I think it's a no-brainer that he would start on Siena over Sniezyk. Just no question. Check out what he's done since the Siena game:

vs. St. John's: 14 points, 9 rebounds
vs. Rutgers: 12 points, 7 rebounds
vs. Fairfield: 15 points
vs. Holy Cross: 12 points
vs. Iona: 17 points, 8 rebounds
vs. UMass: 9 points, 11 rebounds
vs. Rhode Island: 12 points, 11 rebounds

Looks like some crow is in order. Why don't you ask the Iona fans about how much Batemon has improved? They've seen him play lately.
