Subject: I never took my lead from Bobby Knight

Again, I agree with any argument that says the opportunity was his and he had to use it or lose it. I don't know ANY details, but would assume everything was legitimate and he blew the chance. If the coach decided to cut him because of behavior or sit him because he isn't getting it done, then that's what basketball is. Lanier probably needed to smell the coffee about that situation earlier in the season than he did. The result was actually that the kid was asked to play a position he didn't play well and take the heat from the likes of you. And he did give it a go. Don't kid yourself into thinking it was a positive experience either.

My argument remains the same. I don't feel it's your place or anyone else's to try and publicly humiliate a kid playing for the Siena Saints or anyone else for that matter. For all your justifications, if you were one of the people yelling at him or holding signs about him last year, the only crime he committed against any of you last year was that he was an ineffective point guard and not the basketball player you hoped he would be. I am rather ashamed as someone who publicly admits he follows and supports Siena basketball to also admit that I drink from the same trough as those participating in that kind of activity.
