Subject: Who's making excuses?

Your whole post that I replied to talked about how much Canisius was banged up and how they lost a player during the game. I was only pointing out that we too suffered an injury, and it came much earlier in the game than their big man's.

As for the game itself, no real excuse. Ruland didn't do a good job of coaching; the Griffs--led by Dux of course--made our man-to-man look bad and I spent a good part of the game yelling for Big Jeff to try something else. Finally we pressed a little and that got us going, plus we mixed in some zone and that slowed them down a little. But you combine our defensive lapses with a HIDEOUS night from the free throw line, and you have a much tighter game than it should have been. No excuses there. But at least we covered. :-)

Journal News says Waschmann "probably won't" play tomorrow, so we'll have only 7 'ship players dressed. A few Gaels will need to step up tomorrow for us to win.

As for Siena, you SHOULD like your chances; you'll likely be favored by 8 or so!
