Subject: Some Thoughts...

Ugly, ugly win for the Saints tonight, but I'll take it. Iona was obviously undermanned, but they seemed to play with a lot of heart. Siena is the more talented team, but they did not play even close to their potential tonight.

Prosper had another poor performance in my view. He seemed to make many bad decisions with the ball & he forced shots & never seemed to be in the flow of the offense. I actually thought he played less than 30 minutes.

Can't say enough good things about Michael Haddix, he is doing tremendous so far this season. 18 pts, 7 boards...Felt he could've been in for a few more minutes.

Another non-existant night by Austin & Brent. Did they even play more than half the game? Neither one had any real significant contributions tonight.

Great to see Justin Miller & Jamal Jackson get some quality minutes & make positive contributions to the team. Miller hustled all game & was real aggressive on the boards. Actually made both free throws attempts twice in a row, hope that's a trend that continues. Jamal's play is not reflected in the statline. He beat the press when it was on & made good decisions with the ball when he was in.

The offense tonight seemed stale for most of the game. The Saints kept passing the ball around, but no one was really making things happen. Towards the end, when it counts, they finally started getting some open looks, but the three point shooting was non-existent all night. The Saints, as usual, hit the boards hard all night & hustled. They handled the press better, but still had wayyy too many turnovers.

This would've been a bad loss for Siena with the Buffalo road trip coming up. I'll take a split & be satisfied...Can't wait to get the students back in time for the Fairfield game on the 20th!!!
