Interesting subject, Providence is struggling with this same issue, URI a State School just built a beautiful 8,000 seat on campus facility while PC a small catholic school big east school ( similar size to Siena) plays in a downtown arena similar to the Pepsi If A private Big East school with all its big time donors is struggling to get one built I don’t see how Siena could, but hey I’m game it doesn’t hurt to dream. I don’t pretend for a instant to know all the particulars it would take to build an arena, but if we somehow could ( I doubt it)

We’d never get 1500 a game no matter how bad we were, we got over 3K a game during the Beyer years and hopefully it will never get that bad again (although anything’s possible)

If I were to build an arena I would prefer the size be in the 8 to 10,000-seat variety. Why have a 13,000-seat facility and have it compete with the Pepsi,

A smaller facility would ensure it would be a “tough” ticket to come by and if we ever needed a super size ( MAAC tournament or other we could still get the Pepsi) also allow the arena to book smaller acts than the Pepsi so again we are not competing directly with the Pepsi, not sure the area could support two 13,000Plus arenas. Siena plays what 14 or so game home game s a year, so there would be cost with managing the arena

In a earlier post I went thru how much money is generated when Siena has a crowd of 10,000 plus at the Pepsi, between ticket sales, concessions and parking such a game generates easily in excess of a quarter of a million dollar in revenue, currently I don’t think Siena gets 1/3 of that take, of course Siena doesn’t have management headaches or expenses either

A campus arena with 8 to 10,000 screaming fans would be nice but money cost aside, could you justify such an arena at the MAAC level? Could Siena come up with the space for not only the arena but also parking? And the biggest question where would Siena get the 50 or 60 million it would take to build such an arena
