This is a bit like the 'Introductions' thread, but in much more detail. Given the fact that we're all about being ourselves, going through the process of individuation, walking our own paths, developing our individual perspectives, making connections and developing our experiences, this is a thread where you can share your personal history, narratives, memories and journey through life to give insight into what makes you you.
Who are you? What makes you you? How was your childhood? Who were the people who influenced you in life? What did you get up to in school? Who did you want to be as a child when you were growing up? Did you become who you wanted to be? Or did something happen to make your life change course? What are your interests? What do you try to bring to the world?
Part of my reason for starting this thread is to try and set the environment for the board and shift the emphasis onto personal accounts, stories, memories, personal narratives, and sharing the experiences and things we all go through in life, but in our own unique and individual way, in different circumstances with different people. To be able to achieve this we need to go beyond the superficial and give each other the opportunity to get to know each other on a deeper level.
It's important to understand that what makes us the individuals who we are are other people and how we interact with them in life. Identity is difference, and difference is identity. We are ourselves because other people are themselves, and often where we differ from most other people is that what makes us most interesting to others and what stimulates people's curiosity and fascination.
You don't have to reply to this thread straight away upon joining the community, or even at all. You can keep the thread in mind and come back to it, or respond at a later date. Do what is most comfortable and appropriate for you.
But if you do want to let it all out there, and share your history and journey, here's your opportunity.
