I think pollution considerations, while important, are not the same issue in PNG they are in some 3 million city surrounded by mountains kind of situation. However point is well taken.

The BRA was running their vehicles off coconut oil product for some time. Of course it probably dirtys the pistons of the engine, it is not an efficient fuel, but it is probably a good self reliance fuel. That's a good start for a country that hopes (I hope???) to become more self reliant.,
