I've attended a few "speech days" over the last week and today witnessed another occasion when a few individuals end up collecting prices in most of the subjects. Imagining that this is happening in the hundreds of schools throughout the country, I feel that such talented students should be nurtured in an elite school or academy where their talents can be further developed at a more agreesive pace towards building their skills and knowledge in the areas they excell in. The elite school or academy must have top facilities for these students to test their imaginations and thinking in developing new systems, new products, new appliances, etc.
PNG should embark on this now so that it can see some results of its investments in the next 15 to 20 years. We need to recogize these types of students, duxes given the awards during their graduation/commencements. Special awards by the country (government) be created for these students and an elite institute or academy founded and funded by leading industries in the country.

I'd appreciate some reactions, thoughts on this with international examples. Thanks
