Subject: Some male smokers have a negative opinion of female smokers

Over on the Committed Smokers board there is a group of women who insist on only dating male smokers because they assumeevery non-smoking man will nag them to stop And that every man who smokes is accepting of their habit. They know there are non-smoking male fetishists and they havedisdian and animosity towards them. Anyway, they are wrong when they assume all men who smoke are accepting of them. Life is not so simple.

First it's interesting to note that the countries with the biggest taboos against female smoking have sky high male smoking rates, think of China an much of Asia. In these countries and cultures smoking is seen as masculine. I personally think these countries are backwards and inferior to Western culture because they are unable to see the feminine side of smoking when it's so obvious. Of course we're talking about China where they aborted millions and millions of baby girls because they think boys are superior. That's the mentality we are dealing with.

But even in the U.S this attitude exists to some degree. I come across it occasionally online. It seems especially present with the younger generation, they see smoking as exclusively masculine. Part of this I believe is that they have never seen cigarette advertising targeted at women. I think this is actually a huge factor, not that I excuse them.

Check out what Amax5618 says in the link I post. He is a smoker who sees smoking as masculine and thinks female smoking is gross. I'm telling you this attitude is not unheard of among young men who smoke. The Committed Smokers women (who use to post on the Refuge) hate us fetishists yet we are the ones that totally understand and appreciate the feminine/sensuous aspects of smoking. They would see Amax5618 smoking and get all excited, "he's one of us" they would rejoice. Little do they know he thinks they are gross!
