Author: Sh'muel> Subject: The three siblings exit between. . .
In reply to: M'takua with Greith 's message, "Loner..." on 09:15:34 07/04/01 Wed

Sh'muel gives a slight shudder as they pass through the cold nothingness from the Southern Weyrling Barracks, heading towards the Southern Bowl. He bites back a scream of panic when it lasts longer than he expected. He is about to become desperate, as he cannot feel his beloved bronze beneath him. All at once, though, he is back in sunshine, hovering above a herd of beasts, blinking his eyes against the sudden light. Lirth glides down and backwings, landing lightly on his silvery talons. He tucks his wings into his chest and lies down to soak in the sun before they must return to the barracks. Sh'muel walks towards the other riders, surprising both D'ven and himself. He grins a nervous greeting and offers the others a weak "Hi. . ."

D'ven is surprised at the lack of light and all things familiar in between. It almost scares him, but not quite. No, what really scares him is that he cannot see Prosth. During the short ride between, the brown, too, is a bit alarmed. The mere thought that Prosth, one of the calmer dragons, would be scared scares D'ven even more. He tightens his grip on the leather harness, which he cannot feel, and keeps his head plastered to Prosth's neck, or at least where he knew it was. Suddenly, however, it was over: the two males return to the world of sunshine and. . . herdbeasts. D'ven's nose wrinkles at the smell, but Prosth settles on a ledge near the herd. {I like their smell,} he informs his rider. "Well, I don't," the brownrider states, and moves as far from the stench as he can.

Though Chava and Sinouth are the last to enter the nothingness, they seem to deal with the strangeness best of the three siblings. Though a small shiver runs down Chava's back, and Sinouth's unseen eyes turn a surprised violet, the two calmly count the eight seconds and emerge right on time. A slender quiver of relief slips into the weyrmates' bodies as they regain orientation. Chava grins at her two brothers below, even though they cannot see her. Utilizing her healthy young wings, the green swerves downwards, obviously showing off her agility to males as she sweeps to a grandiose landing without stirring so much as a speck of dust. Her poll swivels smugly to survey Lirth and Prosth, her eyes a grinning mixture of sky blue and spring green. Chava spares a slight chuckle at her outrageous dragon as she heads towards the crowd of weyrlings. Though not gregarious by nature, she did like talking. She grins and raises a salutatory hand to Ritaki. "Hi!"
