I think I just was always trying to take shortcuts and was maybe not as supervised as I should have been. I think I knew the consequence, but was bold enough to not think I would get caught.

Am I right in thinking that if I was growing up in your home, then, that I would be spanked for this instance and put on a close behavior monitoring plan where more expectations and rules would be put on me with regard to homework? Would this constitute a meeting with the hairbrush?

This incident never would have happened in our family (not only can I not imagine any of ours behaving so poorly, but the school notified by email). But we did spank for school misbehavior (and in this case disrespect and dishonesty). Our kids went to Catholic school, which issued demerits. When we were notified one of ours had five, this earned them a spanking. We were also pretty well plugged into what what was going on at school, which could result in some type of home disciplinary action.

I probably would have found ways to rebel earlier on if I was your son, but it sounds like that would have been stamped out (on my bare bottom) very quickly before I was ever a pre-teen. I think that was just my nature as a kid. Sounds like I would have been the problem child hahaha.
