Bobby, I use a wooden paddle to spank but my husband uses a Lexan Paddle. According to my girls, they say the spanking feels the same, but the Lexan leaves the sting for at least 2 days. They say that the Lexan sting and pain starts earlier than the wood paddle. I do spank longer than my husband.
