I'm confused now. The type of cache card shown on the Micromac site is not the type Stuart mentioned earlier in this thread when he said the card would "presumably plug into the cpu socket." I was picturing a card that would sandwich horizontally into the cpu socket like the ppc accelerator card does.

The Micromac card is completely different. It plugs vertically into a cache card slot on the motherboards of the quadras listed on the web page. About a year ago I came across a Q950 that had a 128k cache card in it (different brand). I could swear I tried to fit it into my Mystic's 575 board, seeing that it was labeled as a 33 mhz card, but of course there was no slot for it. It didn't fit in the comm slot.

(However, that is where I got the full 68040 CPU for my Mystic!)

I sold that cache card on ebay for about $25 and there were other similar cards listed at the time (of course I haven't looked since then). So there's no reason for anybody to spend $100 on one of these things if you want to experiment. I still have a scan image of the picture I used in my ebay ad, it anybody's interested and wants to contact me off-list.

But it sounds like the wrong type of card to me.
