Thanks for the suggestions.

I've replaced the SCSI cable and the IDE cable completely, thinking it may be a short or open line. I've also tried booting from an external SCSI (HD and CD) without the cables.

Scott, I agree that the analog board seems an unlikely culprit for a HD problem. After rewiring and replacing nearly everything on the 630 connector and trying different OS's, different hard drives, and different logic boards, the analog board seemed the only thing left! :-) I was wondering if something to do with the VGA mod up around the pins might be interfering.

And these logic boards, hard drives, and the CD all work fine in another computer. So I don't know about replacing ROMs.

Thanks to all for your help. I'll leave a final update if I find anything....
