Well, something similar happened to me. I was on a Power Macintosh G3 (Beige with ADB, of course, and it's not a color classic but I think it has the same problem) and suddenly, out of the blue, the machine stopped working and showed me that disk with a question mark on it. I tried every single possible method I could think of (booting from disk or cd, scsi connecting my PB as a hard drive, resetting the special reset button on the motherboard), and then my computer teacher tried turning it on, but removing the mouse. Bam! It worked! It seems that ADB can really screw up things, since I guess if there is an open circuit on ADB, other things don't get recognized which are further down on the bus, like the hard drive. So, what I would recommend would be to replace the keyboard or mouse, or disconnect the mouse before going drastic and replacing the hard drive and stuff like that. Anyways, I just wanted to share one of my experiences, to see if it could do any good. Have a good one:)
