Subject: Calling all Analog Board experts (Stocker)

I am at a loss here. I am almost done with another PCC conversion. I put in my 4GB IDE drive (IDE cable verified correct) And, the first time I tried to start it, it would not boot. Just ? indicating no bootable disk. I shut it off and noticed that the IDE cable was not seated all the way. I then reseated it and tried again, nothing still. I shut off the machine, thought I'd maybe done the IDE cable wrong, cut off the tab on the IDE cable and flipped it over. Nothing. No spin up noise or anything. I then shut it off, flipped it back and still nothing. I then booted it again, and metered the 5v and 12v lines for the hard drive. There's 5v at the 5v position but P1 and P2 only have about 4.3 Vdc on it. (Not 12 like I need) I used a PSU from a SCSI external hard drive and kinda patched it in and it spun up and booted. The drive only draws .23A (not much current). I have not modded the analog board yet. Cut nothing on it at all (still 512*384) It looks funky but you can make out some icons and see the happy mac. Did I inadvertantly kill my analog board? Will the mod to 640x480 process fix this situation? Is the S1 mod not being done (its a 6320 board inside) part of the problem? The funny thing is, it boots without the S1 mod being done (both a 630 and 6320 board boot up.) I am at a loss. I have another analog board but it is in a really sharp unmodded CC. I am thinking at this point in the stage of this project that a 640 mod would not hurt. Are there any of you out there who are intimate enough with the analog board to know why there is no 12V + at P1? Any help would be great. The overview is... 6320 logic board, 4GB Western Digital drive, 64MB Ram, CS modem, Video in card, TV Tuner (not hooked in yet) and LC ethernet. Thanks in advance to all of those who throw in their two cents.
Scott
