Subject: Re: Comm Slot Ethernet in Mystic - OOPS!
In reply to: Chris Lawson 's message, "Comm Slot Ethernet in Mystic" on 18:34:52 07/19/01 Thu

I'm using an Apple Comm Slot I card and I had to cut the little hard drive cable guide too. It was a tight squeeze with the Comm Slot card installed but I got the logic board in.

Then, later I had to remove the card to replace the RAM. When I pulled the logic board out, I scraped the Comm Slot card against that little screw hole that holds the rear panel screw in place. Next thing I know I see this small brass colored thing looking up at me from the logic board. I had scraped something off of the card. I don't know what it is but it _used_ to be surface mounted in position Y1 near the ethernet connector. I don't know which direction to re-install it because it's the only CS I card I have and don't have any other card to compare it to.

The little thing that fell off has "200.00T3G" etched onto it and is about 1cm in length and looks kinda like an upside down bathtub. If anyone has an Apple CS I card, could you please help me figure out which way to install this thingy (technical term) back onto to the card.

-Makoto
