Tim did you ever get spanked for your grades in English? :)

And yes, a "hard spanking" is much worse than a "fair spanking".

English is a strange language. Even a long time ago, people said it's weird that British people would say:

"She's awful pretty" -- meaning, a girl who looks very beautiful.

And also the same British people would say:

"She's pretty awful" -- meaning, a girl who is unpleasant.
