I remember being in that situation getting a lecture from dad before getting my bottom smacked. The only difference was dad had the slipper in his hand and I would still have my socks on. My twin brother Josh would also be present but if he appeared to be enjoying it dad would ask him “Do you want to get your bottom smacked as well?” Josh would then change his attitude. In general we didn’t like seeing the other getting smacked. Dad wanted the other to know what would happen if he misbehaved.
