One thing niether of us brought up is the ice needs to be really thick to support some of the shanties people build. Some drive pickup trucks onto the ice to drag them out on the lake and every once in a while break through and sink. Our HOA posts when ice is too thin and enforce the safety rules on this.
It is warming up a little here and wil into the 40s for a high this weekend but winter is far from over. There is still time for ice skating and hockey games on our lake.
