1) Thank you for your comprehensive reply which is very much appreciated.

2) It seems like your future offspring might benefit as a result of your reaction to your own home punishment. And inheriting the family paddle might also signify that their grandparents wil be restricted from applying their more harsh rules to this new household.

3) Personally without children, although my siblings still have some young offspring, responsibility for their chastisement is not mine and I wouldn't ever seek it out. Having read a few tales within this very forum that indicate that the application of paddle or hand to rear ends can be effective, there are also accounts here that suggest it is sometimes unwarranted or over-used. However, it's not my place to judge or pass comment.
