I'm not entirely sure just what you are trying to say here. Are you saying that there are more spankings in large families than in families with an only child? That's nothing to remark on - it's only a matter of arithmetic. If all kids get spanked once a month on average then in a family with one child there will be one spanking a month while in a family of 4 kids there will be 4 per month, or once a week on average. Nothing unusual about mathematics. If, on the other hand, you are saying that an only child gets spanked once a month while a child in a large family gets it once a week, there's a no-surprise explanation for that, too: With a bunch of kids around at all times there is simply more temptation to screw around, each goading the other on. Also, there is the temptation to get on each other's nerves leading to fights. I've never gotten into a fight in 17 years because as an only child there's nobody to fight with.

If you are saying that a boy in a large family loves his parents more than an only, I take vigorous exception to that! I love my parents, too. Good on both of us!!!

Finally, I fail to see what you mean by "super smart only kids". Being the only kid may get you a better learning environment because the parents can spend more time tutoring their one child rather than have to parcel out their time among many, but that can't amount to much. Benjamin Franklin, one of the smartest people in his time was one of 17 kids!
