Some might think it a little over the top but it sounds like a very effective deterrent. As Jerry said, suspending kids can often seem like giving them a holiday (vacation as you Americans would say) but your dad ensured that it was a serious punishment. It means you probably will be very careful not to get suspended again and it is a very effective warning to your brothers.

I am glad you got through it though and that it is over for you now.

Do you think it was a fair punishment?
